What is Spritual Direction?
As a director, I walk alongside the directee on a soul journey to acknowledge how Jesus has shaped your life over the years and where you see Jesus currently. We lean in with a posture of curiosity, with love, grace and without judgement. During our time together we may pray, read scripture, engage in imaginative prayer, sit in silence, journal, all while turning your heart toward the loving gaze of God, and what God might be doing in your life.
What it isn't:
Counseling or mentorship or goal oriented
Me telling you what to do or how to fix your problems
What it is:
A director and directee on a soul/faith journey to acknowledge how Jesus has shaped your life over the years and where you see Jesus currently through the ups and downs. We lean into a posture of curiosity with love, grace and without judgement. I would basically be a soul friend that would help you to continue turning toward what God might be doing in your life.
What to expect in Spiritual Direction -
In Spiritual Direction I create a contemplative space while bringing your awareness to the loving gaze of God. This is a safe space to share your journey or story of your heart and experience of God. During our time together we may pray, read scripture, engage in imagination prayer, sit in silence, journal, all while tuning your heart to where you notice God in the present.
Group Spiritual Direction -
This looks similar to one on one. We spend time listening with love to how God is moving in each other's lives without giving suggestions on how to fix anything. As with one on one direction, we lean in with a curious posture without judgement. This is usually in a group of 3 to 4 directees with one director facilitating and leading.
